Table Basse Sculpturale "Forme Libre" en orme massif & Pied Racine - 1970s

_______________________________

More than just a table, this is a slice of nature frozen in time. A stunning example of the 1970s French "Organic Modern" movement, this piece rejects straight lines in favor of natural flow.

The top is an incredible "monoxyle" (a single slab of wood) with a free-form shape, showcasing the tormented and mesmerizing grain of Elm Burl. The thick "honey" varnish finish acts like a magnifying glass, adding abyssal depth to the complex elm grain and catching the light beautifully. It rests on a brutalist root base, creating a striking contrast between the smooth surface of the top and the raw, textured nature of the foot.

This is a true statement piece for a living room: it anchors the space with its visual density and brings immediate organic warmth.

Condition: Superb vintage condition. The thick varnish has a beautiful gloss that protects the wood and enhances the contrast of the grain. Massive structure, perfectly stable.
