Cabinet dressoir d'Art Populaire, 1900

Maison Lecan presents this early 20th-century cabinet, a truly unique piece of French folk art. It seamlessly blends the influence of Art Nouveau, visible in its fluid lines and organic cutouts—with traditional woodwork featuring barley-twist legs. Its design is strikingly theatrical, featuring a mirrored canopy with a bevelled glass top, crowned by a stylized eye motif, and a central cabinet flanked by curved side shelving.

A Statement Piece with a Proto-Dadaist Aesthetic:

Far more than mere storage, this is a genuine sculpture. The mix of styles and unusual forms gives it a raw, almost dadaist or proto-surrealist feel. The natural patina on the solid wood is stunning, showcasing the full depth of period craftsmanship.

It is the quintessential one-of-a-kind piece—bold in character and ideal for bringing texture and narrative to a contemporary interior or a high-end eclectic space.
